Insulation boards can be faced with a variety of surface finishes, among which are:
- CF: coated glass cloth, for tough, water-proof, thermal interior finish.
- VBD: polyester/aluminum foil laminate, for high performance vapor barrier. Mainly used for duct liners.
- RMW: reinforced polyester film, to provide a tough, moisture and oil resistant acoustic interior finish.
- PFG: perforated glass cloth, for a tough, acoustic interior finish. The Polyimide base board is grooved to provide a recess behind the perforations in the facing which allows the face to be painted without the loss of acoustical value.
- PAF: perforated and ribbed aluminum sheet, designed to provide a durable and attractive suspended ceiling. It makes metal shielding unnecessary.
